Translations- Space between drawing and building

Year 2010
Location: Lawrence Hargrave Park, Potts Point, NSW
Type: Cultural
Tutor: Catherine Lassen

A main interest of the project is to explore the relationship between a range of representational strategies and embedded content in the work of Rolex learning centre by SANAA, and therefore make my own projection for a contemporary art space derived from studies architectural languages. Analysis of Rolex learning centre focuses on implied purpose and function of undulating floor and roof; the wall-less interior and free standing exterior. This architectural strategy is reinterpreted and applied in the project as a half buried up and down maze, which suggests a spatial flow once a journey begins while minimizing the obstruction of the original function of the existing park as a resting spot.
