Adrian’s house

Year: 2010
Location: Kensington Pond, Centennial Park, NSW
Type: Residential + Studio
Tutor: Andrew Macklin

The studio studies a theory of organic architecture and focuses on integration of organic architecture into the existing context of Kensington Pond where the natural environment is juxtaposed with urban living.  In response to the “ideal home” defined by Adrian’s family, the client, which creates a strong connection with the nature while not isolating them from the city life, the architecture attempts to meet the requirements by creating an organic form with a view towards the heart of the city. Inclined “U” shaped house looks to be derived from the ground and embrace its surroundings while views towards the city from their bedrooms and roof garden offer to enjoy more vibrant and diverse living at the same time.
