The project questions the nature of dwellings for the aged, especially those with some form of dementia and a new model of adaptable residential environment in an urban context, challenging the current conventional dwellings for the aged is required. Research investigated into dementia during the first semester found the critical correlation between living environment and the impacts on residents’ physical and mental well-being  Reflecting the studies, the design approach is based on a series of vertical gardens that create the multi-sensory environment to stimulate residents’ senses and allows residents to experience unconstrained interactions with other people, activities and nature.
